Sewing Your Own Trendy Fall 2022 10-piece Capsule Wardrobe
I've looked at the Fall/Winter trends for 2022 and compiled this 10-item capsule wardrobe to sew.
Tops
Description: The oversized shirt sewing pattern is based on a classic style but with an oversized fit. It features relaxed shoulders, a traditional shirt collar or standing straight collar, a rear box pleat and side seam pockets.
The oversized button-up shirt has been on trend for awhile now. Sew it in classic white or pick a bright color for dopamine dressing.

It is available in sizes 0-34 (up to 64" hip)
All views feature a pretty sweetheart neckline. View A is a sleeveless bodycon dress with a curved waist detail and two side slits, View B is a sleeveless top with a straight hem that hits just above the hip, View C is a long sleeve bodycon dress with a curved waist detail, two side slits and a slight belled sleeve, and View D is a long sleeve top with a straight hem that hits just above the hip with a slight belled sleeve.
This pattern would sew up well with knit fabrics with at least 60% stretch, crossgrain, Something with 4 way stretch is ideal. It would sew up well in rib knits, jersey blends, ponte de roma, or even stretch velvet!
This slim-fit knit top/dress is very on-trend this fall and the neckline makes it unique.

Although this pattern has been around for awhile, tie/scarf neck details are back. Make it in a silky fabric like rayon.

The Kila Tank has several inches of negative ease making it a great basic layering tank top. Kila can be tucked into high-waist pants, overalls, and skirts. Because it’s sewn in super stretchy fabrics, Kila is also a great workout or pajama top for hot weather.
The fitted ribbed tank is super trendy this season, particularly in white. Wear it before it gets too cold and use it as an underlayer after the temperatures cool down.
Bottoms
Description: Pleated trouser shorts & pants with double welt pockets & extended waistband.
Tailored trousers have been spotted everywhere for a few seasons now. This version has a loose leg that isn't too wide so it will pair easily with the tops in this capsule.
Description: The Evelyn is a high-waisted skirt pattern. View A is fitted through the waist with a high slit, side-front buttons, and the skirt is midi length. View B is fitted through the waist, has side-front buttons, and the skirt is mini length. View C includes an adjustable elastic waist with a high slit, and the skirt is midi length.
This 90s-inspired slim skirt is everywhere right now. For optimal trendiness, lengthen it to a maxi.
Description: Misses' casual top and pull-on pants. Pull-on v-neck top with long sleeves and waistband, designed for stretch knits only. Pants, designed for woven fabrics, have elasticated waist, cuffed or turn-up tabbed hems. Side-seam and cargo pockets.
Cargo pants are back! This version has a straight leg and pull-on elastic waist. Lengthen it slightly to puddle around your shoes to be on trend this season.
Layering Pieces
Description: Eteri is a single-breasted, semi-fitted blazer with an accentuated waist. The silhouette of the blazer is achieved with side panels on the front and back, as well as with a center back seam and shoulder darts on the back. The bust dart on the front has been transferred to the shoulder seam. The waist dart ease has been split into two darts, which are worked on the right side of the garment, and pressed toward the center front and back. The waist darts feature decorative running stitches applied using topstitching thread. The extended shoulder line features shoulder pads. Eteri has long two-piece set-in sleeves. The collar is a classic blazer notched lapel style, with a separate collar stand. At the waist, the blazer fastens with a button and buttonhole. Eteri is fully lined and is mid-hip length.
Oversized blazers are still very in for fall and winter. This one has some unique details to make it stand out in a crowd.

Bomber jackets are really in this year. Sew a size larger for a slightly oversized look.
Dress

The Maya can be made in a cami, a midi or an above the knee length dress.Wear over a tee, a turtleneck on the cooler days or just as is for a minimalistic feel to your look.
I was surprised to see so many slip dresses in stores right now. Layer it with a turtleneck and tights for the colder months.
