January Spin-stravaganza, Part IV

My spinning has slowed down a little bit as we approach the end of the month. I intend to try to spin at least 15 minutes a day into next month as well. Right now I'm working on 2 thin spinning projects, which take a lot longer to finish than these thicker spins.

Sugartown handspun

I combined December and January club fibers from Three Waters Farm. This is a DK weight, 470yds total, about 200g. It's 50% Targhee and 50% superfine merino. I called it Sugartown, because the colors combined remind of Smarties and other sugary candies. I split both tops in half and spun them to barberpole, so the skeins will coordinate but they are not identical. Both skeins are in the shop.

In January, I managed to spin 45 ounces of fiber (about 2.8 lbs) and 2975 yards which shatters all previous records for me. I'm really proud of sticking to my month of spinning and I feel like now I know that I could spin a sweater's worth of fiber in a relatively short time if I really wanted to.

  1. This is so pretty! I can't get over it!

  2. Gorgeous, gorgeous yarns - I want them all! ;)
