Mystik Spiral Socks

Mystik Spiral Socks

I finished these back in July, but I've been lazy about photos again.

Mystik Spiral Socks

Pattern: Mystik Spiral Socks (rav)
Yarn: Vesper Sock Yarn in In the Wildwood
Needles: #0 40-in Addi Sock Rockets
Started: June 24, Finished: July 4

Although I like the general idea of the design and I love Daria, there were a lot of things technique-wise that I wasn't too into about this pattern, so I made a lot of changes. For starters, a 68 stitch sock on #1 needles would've been too large for me, so I went down a needle size. I also used wrapped short rows instead of the method outlined in the pattern. I changed the toe to a regular wedge toe with kfb increases and knit a gusset heel. I should have made the cuffs a little taller, but I forgot so they are only 6 inches or so.

I just finished a second pair of these socks last night. it's an easy and quick pattern for self-striping yarn that isn't just plain stockinette. I'm sure I'll revisit it again.
