I hope everyone had a great holiday. i relaxed at home and tried to get a lot of work done. One of the things on my agenda was sewing buttons on my Acer cardigan. I've had the sweater finished and blocked for quite awhile but that last step put me off for a bit because i really hate sewing on buttons. Please pardon the photos--it was absolutely freezing outside so i tried to be as quick as possible.

Acer Cardigan

the stats:
Pattern: Acer Cardigan (rav)
Yarn: Wollmeise DK in grashupfer, 2 skeins
Needles: #5 knitpicks harmony
Size: 34-ish

Details: I alternated skeins and did a few things to facilitate that, including knitting the sleeves flat and seaming them at the end. I knit the body several inches longer than specified. I added stitches to the sleeves to make them more roomy. I shortened the sleeves an inch or so.

In case anyone else is interested in using Wollmeise for this pattern--my row gauge was significantly different so for example i had to knit several more rows than specified for the buttonband to get the correct predetermined width. i used nearly all of the yarn and my skeins were 45g overweight total.

I got pretty tired of this one and of course I decided that i hate the color at some point, but now that it's done i love it and i will wear it often.

A quick note: I'm having a Cyber Monday sale in the shop. Everything is 30% off, even sale items. It expires at midnight tonight.
