i finished the BFL/silk that i got for the spinalong drawing. the original fiber:
Allspunup BFL/Silk
spun as a singles yarn, short forward draw, soaked and thwacked to finish
Allspunup BFL/silk singles
782yds/119g laceweight singles. i think i'm going to use it for a lace stole. i got knitting 24/7 in the knitpicks book sale, and i'm thinking about making the Ostrich Plumes Stole (rav). i've been searching high and low for a lace pattern that won't be obscured by the high contrast color changes, and i think simple is the way to go.

there's hints of pale grey/blue and chocolate brown that don't really come through in the yarn photos. it's a fairly complex colorway, and very pretty.


  1. I think this is one of my favorites of the handspun you've posted in the last few months. I'm curious to see what it looks like knit up, and I agree; simple is probably best with such a variegated yarn.
