we haven't turned on our heat yet so things take an age to dry. i finished spinning this last friday and it's finally ready for its closeup.
My Blingtastic romney yarn, spun from my first batts.

158yds/39g low-twist singles yarn, light worsted weight, thick n thin
the batts were pulled into roving and spun longdraw. the yarn was soaked and thwacked to finish.

the yarn feels pretty soft for romney. i have no clue what to do with it.
Pas de Valse
i started my pas de valse with skinny bugga in tomato frog. the different dyelots thing is turning out to be a real PITA. i'm alternating skeins, 4 rows of the lighter color, 2 rows of the darker color, which is pretty evident from looking at it. i'll have to live with a slightly stripey sweater. because there is a ton of "at the same time" stuff going on when you reach the underarms, i'm going to have to work the two fronts and the back separately instead of all at once in order to maintain the stripey sequence without losing my sanity.

i don't know how many progress photos i'll show of this one. it's pretty boring to look at. "Hey, check it out--more stockinette." at least it's relaxing to knit.

  1. I'm still dazed from the fact that you can get a huge cardigan out of 2 skeins of sock yarn. It pays to be tiny. ;-) I love your sparkle. I don't know your yardage, but it would make pretty neckgear of some sort.

  2. Blingy indeed!

I'm also impressed by your dedication to alternate skeins--I would have just had a two tone block cardi!

  3. Wow, kudos to you for alternating skeins throughout the whole thing. I don't think I'd have the patience for that! I'd cop out and just alternate towards the bottom and do the ombre, gradient look.

  4. I am in the sparkle camp as well. I love the color! :)

  5. Oh we haven't turned the heat on in our house either. thankfully, it hasn't been terribly cold.

  6. Blingy yarn! How fabulous is that? Your spinning is so even too, I'm in awe. I have 2 skeins of Starry... the silver is kind of blingy, but nothing as awesome as this.
