Walden is a triangular shawl crocheted from the neck down. It can be worked to any size, but both versions shown take only one skein of sock yarn. Version I is crocheted with a sport weight yarn in a textured half double crochet pattern. Version II is worked with a fingering weight yarn in a double crochet pattern at a looser gauge for a lacier look. Two edging variations are provided and both shawls are reversible. Quick and easy to work, they make the perfect choice for gifts, especially when paired with a soft luxurious yarn.
Yarn Requirements
Version I: 375yds/343m sport weight yarn
I used Fiberphile Eclipse Cashmere Merino Sock Yarn, col. Dark Amethyst (375yds/343m per 115g), 1 skein

I used Malabrigo Sock, col. Stonechat (440yds/402m per 100g), 1 skein

Gauge After Blocking

  1. Nice. I don't see enough crochet projects made from lux yarn.

  2. Awesome! Purchased! Now to see if I remember how to crochet. It feels like it's been so long!
