Pretty Yarn Day: Singles Edition

19 Micron Merino Singles
i've been in a bit of a spinning rut lately. it's taking me months (literally) to spin 4oz of laceweight merino. i needed a palate-cleansing project to get me back on track.
19 Micron Merino Singles
this is 419yds/4oz of 19 micron merino. i bought the fiber at the finger lakes fiber festival last year. the fiber is so soft and squishy. it works beautifully as a singles yarn. it's about a sport/dk weight. i got more yardage for the thickness than expected b/c the fiber is so airy. i spun it semi-worsted and just soaked and thwacked to finish. i think i might dye it navy blue and make spicy a scarf. the alpaca scarf i made him last year is a little too itchy and the softness of this skein would be perfect.
Rick #1
i'm about 6 inches into the cuff of Rick #2. the second sock is as satisfying to knit as the first.
