on the home stretch

Little Birds progress
I was able to work on Little Birds a lot over the weekend. I am currently on the last row of birds in the yoke section. it shouldn't be much longer before i'm ready to steek. since many of my yarns are superwash, i'm planning to run a couple rows of zigzag stitch on my sewing machine to reinforce the steek before i cut.

it has been an interesting experiment, working on only one knitting project at a time. certainly the work goes faster, and i haven't gotten too bored once i got past the ribbing.

Tabi Socks from Knitting Classic StyleTabi Socks from Knitting Classic Style
Today's Project From Ages Ago is the Tabi Socks from Knitting Classic Style. They were my friend's birthday gift.

Project Stats:
Started May 4, Finished May 25
Yarn: 1 skein of tofutsies
Needles: US 1
Size: Ladies' 6.5

The lace pattern was really fun to knit, but I found the toe directions to be a bit wonky. I substituted my own version of the toe that made more sense to me. i liked tofutsies and i would use it again if there were less heinous colors. this was the only shade i found at the lys that didn't make my eyes bleed.

  1. Holy fast fair isle Batman! I blinked and you went from sleeves to full bod! It's looking great!

  2. That sweater is lookin' good! I really like those socks too...I may have to add the pattern to my ginormous queue.
