sadly lacking in willpower

remind me again that i already have another blanket in progress that i was supposed to finish before starting another one. oh well, too late.

Lizard Ridge blanket from Knitty

it's lizard ridge from knitty. i'm using noro silk garden #247 and #243. it took me a square or so for the pattern to click, but now things are going smoothly. i am cutting the yarn and spit-splicing rather than carrying it up the side. i'm also picking up stitches on the previous square to start the new one. i know that i could just knit in strips rather than binding off, but i kind of like the dividing ridge between blocks. while i was knitting, i thought that the silk garden color changes were too subtle, but now when i see the bigger picture, i really like it. originally i was going to use all three colors i bought, but now i think i'll save #203 for a lady eleanor or a sweater. haven't decided yet.

willpower is overrated.

and i could tell you what i do underground, but i'd have to kill you.

  1. Looks good...I like that pattern but often think I can't afford the Noro. I was recently thinking about maybe using Paton's SWS. Do you think it would work or should I just save to get the Noro? (As I recall, you weren't crazy about the SWS but is it comparable?) I have no LYS that sells Noro so I would have to order online.

  2. I like how you are knitting your Lizard Ridge! Looking good! :)

  3. Cool! I am toying with the idea of knitting it again in Silk Garden... oy. This isn't helping ;)

(Can't wait to see it worked up :))

  4. Looks great...I've been tempted to do one too.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of it in progress!
