Someone needs to light a fire under her ass

consider it done. here are roomie's socks, all finished. it took exactly one week.
Roommate Socks
The two socks don't look as different from each other in person, but you can see that the colors aren't exactly the same. I'm just glad they are done, and here's why.

My knitpicks order came. it's like christmas came early! ha-ha.

I got a little help from Wyatt modeling the merino style i bought to make my mom's gryffindor POA scarf.

I matched shades quite well with my so-called scarf. i got Wool of the Andes in cranberry to make a Hermione hat. Alas, this one has to wait until xmas knitting is concluded.

This is the wool of the andes i got to make my dad's felted slippers and my brother's armwarmers. i haven't used it yet, but i'm impressed just by feeling the skeins. they are much softer than i anticipated. i wouldn't hestitate to make a sweater with this yarn.

and finally, i ordered #2 and #3 bamboo dpns and Nancy Bush's Knitting on the Road. i've only used my denises, metal, and bamboo needles, but i think i like bamboo the best. certainly for dpns...the metal ones hurt my hands.

so now i can't wait to get started!

  1. I am also awaiting a big knitpicks order! :) I bought enough Shine for the scalloped bag from Handknit Holidays, Shine to make a baby sweater, Andean Treasure to make a cabled hat, and the DPNs I need to finish a hat! (I keep losing DPNs. I should buy myself a needle case for christmas... it would probably save money over time!!)

I can't wait to see your work once you get started. I'll be uploading photos of finished pieces soon too, I hope!

  2. I just bought the Knitting on the Road book too! I really love it! I have just started the conwy socks in LL Tahoe. Nothing much to show for it yet.
