Fall Capsule Wardrobe 2017: Tops

I've narrowed down my options and I will be going with a 38 piece wardrobe (15 tops, 7 bottoms, 8 outer layers, and 8 pairs of shoes). I'm breaking it down by category over the next few days so that you will know what is in my capsule. Please excuse the lacking quality of the photos. I'm using screenshots from the Pureple app to make things easier.

So let's get started with tops. This category includes tees, blouses, button-down shirts, and sweaters. I tried to pick a range to cover different weather conditions and have a nice variety of solids and prints. I've chosen 15 items total in this category.

Tees

Untitled

White/blue stripe tee: I'm very comfortable in stripes. This basic tee is one of my favorites.
Similar options:

Charcoal u-neck tee (exact): I ended up swapping this out with a tee that I got from Stitch Fix. It's also a grey loose-fitting tee, but it has a deeper v-neck.
Similar options:

Red boyfriend tee: This one is oversized and perfect for lounging around on the weekends.
Similar options:

White v-neck tee (Exact): I don't buy expensive white t-shirts because they just don't last that long. I actually wear white t-shirts less than one would think. I'm probably too spill-prone to make it a constant item in the rotation. We'll see how much I end up wearing this one during the month.
Similar options:

Grey/black stripe long sleeve tee (exact): I bought this in a medium so that it would be oversized and comfy, but it might be a little too large. i will definitely wear it on weekends with leggings. we'll see if i wear it to work.

Long sleeve black/white stripe tee: Finally, we reach an item I wore in my last capsule. This a cheap one from Forever 21 that I got ages ago, but it's a great basic that goes with everything.

Blouses

Mauve bell-sleeve top (exact): I bought this during this year's Nordstrom anniversary sale, and it's already becoming a favorite. I am in love with this shade of pink right now. it looks fantastic with grey or black.
Similar options:

Black peplum blouse: I bought this on Poshmark for a song, but I haven't worn it yet. it'll be perfect for work.
Similar options:

Olive bell sleeve top: This was another Nordstrom anniversary sale purchase, and I love it so much. I'm really into olive this year and i bought a petite size so the sleeves are actually the proper length on me (a minor miracle). It's very comfy and soft and looks great with skinny jeans.

Button-down Shirts

Untitled

Navy/green plaid shirt: I got this from Target last year. it's a soft drapey rayon. I like button-downs for fall and winter because you can wear them with cardigans or under sweaters.
Similar options:

Olive chambray shirt: This was another Target find from last year. i wear this one year-round.
Similar options:

Black/white plaid shirt (from Stitch Fix): I like wearing this one with leggings or jeans. it's a great fall classic.
Similar options:

Chambray shirt: I have a lighter chambray shirt, but I wear this darker one more. I often wear this over a t-shirt instead of a jacket.
Similar options:

Sweaters

Floral sweatshirt (exact): Ok, so I am including a couple of brand-new items that I just bought in my capsule. This is one of them. I am so in love with this top. it's technically cropped but actually a perfect length on me because I'm so short. it's loose and comfy and i know I will live it on weekends.
Similar options:

Black cashmere pullover: I know that it's sad that I'm not including any handknit sweaters in my capsule, but unfortunately I tend to gravitate towards knitting fun colorful items rather than sober "goes with everything" types. A valuable lesson learned, perhaps. My cashmere pullover has dropped shoulders and can be worn over other shirts or on its own. should come in handy if the weather gets cold.
