My 6th pair of the year: the color block socks.
Pattern: my own, toe-up with rounded toe, 64 sts, did a s1, k1, at color changes, FLK heel with integrated heel stitch, ~9" leg inc to 68 sts, 1x1 rib cuff, bind-off with Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off. worked one at a time using magic loop.
Yarn: Fibernymph Dye Works Bounce Sock in Colors of Happiness
Needles: 32" #0 (2.0mm) addi sock rockets
Started: Feb 25, Finished: Mar 11
Notes: This 2ply 80/20 merino/nylon sock yarn is super popular with indie dyers, but I don't love it. For some reason, the nylon content feels plastic-y and makes my hands clammy when I knit with it. I originally tried to use Karbonz to knit these socks and had to stop because the sweaty hands feeling was creeping me out. I thought at first it was the needles but I've since used them on other socks and they don't bother me. I think I have a few more skeins of this base in my stash from various dyers but I will need to be more picky from here on out to avoid it.
These socks are very loud. Spicy asked me tongue in cheek if I would make a pair for him and I told him he wasn't ready for it.
I did start my March personal sock club pair for Spicy, but I've stalled out. #00s are literally painful to use and so slow. I'm sure I will finish these eventually but I had to take a break.
I wanted a mindless project to work on so I cast-on another pair of socks in Patons Kroy. I'm using the Karbonz for these and am knitting 2 at a time to make use of the new divided sock bag I made. Honestly I'm getting a little burned out on socks right now so these 2 projects will probably take me awhile to finish.
BTW, a blog programming note: #stylinghandmade is on hiatus until Spring. I don't know if you've ever been to Western New York in March, but it is an ugly place to be. There are no pretty locations this time of year as everything is covered with dirty disgusting half-melted snow-slush. Also, I'm super tired of wearing the same winter outfits but I probably won't be able to put away my winter coat until it starts warming up in mid-to-late April.
