do. good stitches quilt

#havendgs #dogoodstitches quilt finished

Just checking in with a quilt finish. My month for do. good stitches came up and I asked the group to do blocks for a sampler quilt in rich jewel tones with a white background. i received so many lovely blocks and each one was different. I wanted to showcase them using an atypical layout, so I made some large HST blocks and added solid blocks with white on white prints for a twin-sized quilt.

The backing is a hot pink wide solid and the binding is a tone-on-tone riley blake chevron. I free motion quilted each block in its own pattern with white 50-wt aurifil thread. some of the blocks are more successful than others, but i feel like i really learned a lot by practicing quilting. my pebbles are downright respectable now.

This quilt is one FAL 3rd quarter project I can cross off the list. It has been sent to ABW Rochester, a local shelter for abused women and children.

Looks great! The layout really lets the individual blocks shine and I think your quilting looks fantastic, especially from the back!
