FAL 2014: Kaleidoscope

After failing to finish this quilt in the first quarter, I was determined to get it done in the second.

The top uses several graphic b/w prints and text fabrics and kona salmon and candy green plus mm cotton couture in black. I also used several Posy prints from a layer cake and a bonnie and camille sundae stripe for the thin border.

I FMQ feathers on the kaleidoscope blocks and solid border with white Aurifil 50-wt mako, and handquilted in the flying geese border with #8 perle cotton. I used a diagonal stripe from Bonnie and Camille for the binding and solids for the back.

It was a relief to finally be able to cross it off my list. It is listed in the shop.

This is beautiful, and I love the mix of machine and hand quilting. I never would have thought to do that.
