Where've I been?

It's been an eventful and exhausting few weeks. My grandmother passed away and I flew to Iowa for the funeral. I got to spend some time with family including my niece, Nicole.

Then last weekend Spicy and I went camping in the Adirondacks. I don't have many pictures because there was no reception so we mostly kept our phones off. It was definitely an adventure, although not quite the one we had originally planned. I think for me the most memorable part was when Daisy decided to jump out of the canoe. Fortunately we were able to get her back in without too much trouble and she definitely learned her lesson. I wish I had gotten some pictures of her on our island campsite. She was overjoyed.

I got the news that I was accepted into a craft fair early next month. So the rest of October will be all about getting ready. I've been stockpiling things and ordering supplies. I'm going to keep my shop open but I will wait to add any new inventory until after the show. I'm a little nervous but I'm hoping it goes well.

Weaving with handspun. Thanks to @cauchycomplete for the fiber!

I've kept on weaving. I got my 10-dent heddle and I just finished my first sock weight scarf. Weaving is pretty relaxing once you get the loom warped so I've enjoyed working on it while other craziness keeps happening around me.

With the craft show and busy work stuff I'm likely to be here only sporadically for the remainder of the month. Hopefully in November I'll get back to a more regular posting schedule.

  1. Haha, I was thinking when I started reading this post "What do you mean? You've been on Instagram." ... I'm way too connected to internet apps.

So sorry about your grandma. :( Sending Internet hugs!

  6. Thinking of you, my friend! Also, way down the line, when you can breathe, I really want to chat about a weaving trade. Or purchase. You decide. xoxo
