aaaaand, i'm back.

my non-blogging purgatory has come to an end. i'm taking some time to work on fun stuff for a little while. I've decided to do away with the lengthy WIP-it Wednesday posts because of the effort involved. In the future I will simply stick to whatever is in progress for the week.

Mocha stack on Kona Chocolate

I finally got around to putting some of my naturally dyed fabric in the shop. There's too much of it now to justify using it all in my own projects. I have several fat quarters available with more coming by the end of the week.
UPDATE: I listed more dyed fabrics in the shop.

Hand-dyed Fat Quarter Set Finally the fun part

One of my fun projects is in the works. Since the weather has turned cooler all I can think about is warm cozy winter woolens. The Acer Cardigan (rav) has been on my list for a long time now. I cast-on for the 34" size with Wollmeise DK in Grashupfer, my favorite shade of green. I'm alternating skeins even though i hate doing it and i'm not positive it's necessary. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry with hand-dyes.

Again with the Turkish spindle #wipitwed

I bought a Turkish spindle from Riley Wood and Fiber Art. i got a medium in walnut and zebrawood (i think) and it's smaller than i was expecting. i am spinning a little over an ounce of undyed CVM pin-drafted roving. it's easy to get obsessed with winding on a perfect center-pull ball. I haven't had time to spin much but now i'm trying my best to spin a little bit every day.

  1. I was in the process of checking out some fabric in your store, but the $ 17 shipping for a $ 6 purchase put me off. Too bad.

  2. I refund any excess shipping over $2, just FYI.

  4. Welcome back! It hasn't turned cool here yet but I've got the itch to knit too. I made a swatch just last night for a hat. I was worried it had been so long since I last knit anything that I wouldn't remember how to cast on, thankfully I still did LOL!

  5. Completely amazing fabrics and yarn! And I seriously covet that sweater. It is also my favorite shade of green. I guess you're lucky you live far away, and it would be too small for me... ;)
