WIP-it Wednesday #2

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

I finally broke down and bought a smartphone. you will likely be seeing a lot of crappy instagram pics from now on because it assists my laziness. my username is bradyphrenia if you are inclined to follow.

Finished this week

  1. Foldover Clutches: I made 4 of these cute and simple foldover bags for the shop. I love choosing fabric combos. This style is nice and roomy but not too large to carry.

  2. Drawstring bag: I bought the pattern from in color order. this is the artist size. i'm planning to make several more of these.

  3. Crochet Chevron Blanket / Color Affection / Spicy's handspun socks: i got all ambitious and finished up some outstanding knit and crochet projects. The finished socks are pictured in the New Starts section.

  4. Fabric Bucket: I used the nesting fabric bowls pattern in the 7" size to make a bucket to hold my scraps. my old basket was too small and not sturdy enough. it would get full way too quickly and end up a sad crushed mess on my sewing table. this one seems like it will hold up much better.

In progress this week

  1. Sampler Quilt: I hand quilted one more block.

New starts

Socks for Spicy: Spicy burns through 2 pairs of socks for every one that I can finish. I try to always have a pair on the needles for him. The finished socks are handspun alpaca/merino/mohair with knee high cuffs, so you know, just in time for summer! the new pair is going to be simple stockinette (well unless i get too bored and decide to throw in a patterned cuff) and i'm using some lovely sock landscape yarn that Kay sent to me last year. btw, i still stand by not adding my old yarny or sewy WIPs to the list because it would just be too depressing, but i will track the new ones.

I love your fabric bowl. I've been eying those. I think it's time to give it a try. :)

Wonderful projects. The crochet chevron makes me want to take it up again. I've been hunting all around town for just the right size of containers for storing my scraps in and have been pondering the idea of sewing baskets instead. Yours are really cute.
