For Elaine's month in do. good stitches we made snowball and pinwheel stars in bright spring colors. I made mine 16". After finishing the snowball block, i stitched the trimmings into HSTs. I realized the resulting pinwheel would be the perfect size for a smaller 12" block, so i made another one. It was fun rummaging through the scrap drawer to find coordinating fabrics. I think foraging amongst the scraps is one of my favorite ways to quilt.
In other news--have you seen the massive contest that Colette Patterns is having for their new pattern release, Laurel? I want to make 2 versions. Last night I got the pattern taped together and traced and I made a few standard (for me) alterations. Tonight I'm hoping to start my muslin. I tend to look like a sack in shift dresses. Let's hope that trend does not continue.
Lastly, some boring administrative stuff: I added a follow button for bloglovin in my sidebar in case you are so inclined. Also, I added category-specific feeds (see RSS under Categories) if you only want to subscribe to certain topics. If the feed doesn't work for you, try replacing "blog.knottygnome.com" with "knottygnome.blogspot.com" in the feed address and leave the rest the same.
Have a good weekend!
