Thanks for the kudos on the new shop! psst, there's still time to enter the giveaway.
My first stop on the traveling round of the wonky bee is Amanda. i was nervous because Amanda's wishlist for her quilt is quite long and involved. she's going for a sort of "favorite things" theme. She made a gorgeous start to her quilt--check this out and tell me you wouldn't be intimidated.
One of the things on her list was cameras and photography. i found this vintage camera applique template. i knew that i wanted to use a print for the background. the squiggly summersville fabric was perfect. it was also serendipitous that Amanda included some pearl bracelet and lush painter's palette that made the perfect lens.
I used lite steam a seam to adhere the pieces to the background and blanket-stitched around the raw edges with superior mono-poly invisible thread. i wasn't sure that i liked the look but from far away it's really not that noticeable.
I'm planning to add a few more things over thanksgiving break before i send the package on to the next person. i'm finding this round of the bee to be quite challenging but engaging as well. i hope that Amanda likes it.
