Clutches galore and a winner

Small Pleated Clutch

I've been busy making more pleated clutches for the shop. There are 2 sizes available. This one is the small size, the same as the Flea Market Fancy bag. I've added a slip pocket to the lining that holds a cell phone.

Large Pleated Clutch

This is the larger size. It has a slip pocket with dividers to hold a phone and a pen plus a zippered pocket in the lining. It holds quite a bit more than the small clutch and is more suited for everyday use.

For the sewists, I have a tip on zipper installation. I was first introduced to this method by a sewmamasew tutorial. I bought some Steam a Seam 2 tape at Joann's. It's my new favorite way to baste zippers into place for bags and pillow covers. i've found that using pins can warp the zipper tape and shift the fabric out of position. ironing the tape into place works well even with very thick layers. i haven't been compensated by anyone. i'm just a happy user of the product. i've been using it so much in fact that i'm almost out. i should pick up some more.

Finally, it's time to draw a winner! #14, come on down.

  1. Wow, that's a cool idea for basting zippers! I've always had a huge problem with the layers shifting as I'm trying to baste or sew the zipper on.
