Pretty Yarn Day

superwash merino from Jacey
I spun up the fiber I got for my birthday from Jacey. unfortunately i lost the card so I don't recall who the dyer was. it's superwash merino, chunky 3ply, 97yards from approximately 4oz (i forgot to weigh it).

i spun the yarn short-forward draw and soaked with a light thwacking to finish. i made a concerted effort not to overply and the yarn has just the right amount of bounce. it felt weird not to spin longdraw, but every once in awhile it's good to get out of my comfort zone.

i wish i had more time to sit at the wheel. maybe in the winter.

  1. Beautiful!
I find I spin more in the summer. Not sure what that's all about!

  2. Gorgeous! The dyer is novamade; I feel like you may have read her blog at some point over the years. I love those pops of yellow. And go you, for spinning it up so quickly!

  3. So pretty! Love the subtlety of color.

I'm itching to sit at my wheel again. I didn't spin for a good period of time after the Tour de Fleece just because I'd done so much spinning then, but I've been missing it. This weekend I predict some quality time with my Lendrum.
