Revival

Color Affection
it may not look like much yet, but this is the first time i've picked up the needles in months. i just haven't wanted to knit for a very long time. i admit to being swayed by Sarah's and Jacey's Stripe Study Shawls. i heard the siren call of my cupcake fibers handspun so i'm combining it with some malabrigo to make Color Affection. i wanted a non-triangular shawl and i have a ton of yarn so it seemed like a good match.

i'm pretty sure i'm using #4 knitpicks harmonies, but i really just grabbed the first pair of needles that looked like an appropriate size so they could be #5s. does anyone else do that? i tried out my new skein winder and it made winding all that laceweight a breeze. i can't believe i put up with my crappy ass metal umbrella swift for so long.

who knows how long i'll be into knitting again before i get tired of it. i'm just glad to have rediscovered the needles for now. i started spinning again too, but that's a post for another day.

  1. Yay!  I was wondering if you'd given up knitting in favor of sewing.  At least it's not for good!

  2. Oooh. I love the two yarns you're using, especially you're gorgeous handspun! It's good to revisit your old love knitting. I hope it sticks for you! Color Affection is on my list. Veera's patterns are lots of fun.

  3. I've had a knitting dry spell for a long time too. I think I only finished like 3 things last year! It's been nice picking up the needles in the evenings over the last few weeks though. Color Affection looks like a really enjoyable knit!
