A late start

I've been planning to participate in the Retro Flowers quiltalong but i was paralyzed by trying to narrow down my fabric choices. in the end i went with a muted palette and kona medium gray as the background. i'm also making only 9 flowers for a baby-sized quilt. Retro Flowers
i used my big shot to cut the drunkard's path blocks. it was very fast and easy and i was able to finish all of the cutting in one evening. sewing the curves wasn't too tricky. in the end i settled upon using 3 pins, one in the middle and one at each end and stitched slowly with my quarter inch foot. Retro Flowers
now i just have to stitch the blocks together. this one uses hello pilgrim pearl bracelet. i'm hoping to actually finish this one relatively soon so i should be back shortly with more progress.

  2. I love it!!

I am machine quilting my "real first quilt".  I much prefer machine quilting over hand quilting.  I hope to have the quilting finished this weekend, and then I can do the binding!
