Bottled Rainbows: The Purpling

I had put Bottled Rainbows aside for awhile, mostly because i was dreading attempting the green and purple blocks. i've been able to utilize all scraps so far, with most of them coming out of the scrap bins. the idea of cutting into yardage for this quilt was painful to me. Luckily, Jacey and i made an exchange where I sent her some of my plentiful blue scraps and she sent me a ton of her green and purple scraps. So BR is back on.

i'm not a big purple person. i like the color but i just don't tend to use it very much. i was surprised to learn that i really like the Magenta block, because it's a color i'm not normally drawn to.

I have 3 blocks to go--2 greens and light blue. i'm now thinking about an early fall finish, because i'd like to use my charms from the Color Wheel Swap for the backing. it'd be nice to finish up the top soon and have it ready to go.

  1. I'm glad the scraps worked for you! I think the color wheel charms would make a great backing for this. Are you keeping this one for yourself, or will it be a gift?
