When I saw the free Sorbetto tank top from Colette patterns, I printed it out immediately. it was an easy 1-day project.
I used my lisette voile from joanns and some navy purchased bias tape. I cut the size 0 in bust and hips and the 4 at the waist. in case anyone cares, usually when i grade patterns up in the waist, all i'm really doing is removing most of the curve. because i'm shaped like a tree trunk, while most patterns are not.
the pattern was super easy to follow and sew. i like the contrasting bias tape, but if i made self-fabric tape, i'd probably turn and stitch it to the inside. the armholes are tight. i would lower them next time and probably add a couple of inches to the hem as well. otherwise the fit is pretty good and i like the box pleat.
i'm really impressed with the quality of lisette fabrics. the voile is cool to wear and soft. i can't wait to try out the lawn that i bought and see how it differs from the voile.
i might make this one again. i have a bunch of silk fabric that i've been too scared to use. this blouse is so easy that it'd be pretty hard to screw it up.
i'm not participating in Me-Made-June because i'll be out of town the last half of june, but i'm sporting a fully self-stitched outfit today in spirit anyway. it was fun to pull out my paper-bag waist skirt for the first time this year, though it could've used a good ironing first. oh well.
