a beginning

Dad's birthday quilt
i'm still cutting out fabric for my dad's quilt. it's taking forever. i decided to do a practice block last night. i could definitely use more practice on this one. i'm loving the red/white/blue stars but in modern fabrics. i think it's going to be a bright, fun, happy quilt. just 29 more blocks to go. oof.

  1. Funny, I started a new quilt project last night, too. I really like this block, and I do think it will make a very cheery quilt! Have a great weekend, Sara.

  2.  Love the white star surrounded by color! I was actually thinking of making some similar blocks...one of these days. LOL!
BTW, thanks for the key tip for tightening my interchangeables...I seriously had no idea! Sure enough I went and found the little key but then I couldn't figure out how to use it. I was pretty confused (sadly). Luckily another commenter explained exactly how to use it. DUH! Why is it that I like to make things that are so simple so complicated?! Ah well, learn something new everyday.
