another quilt top

they're starting to pile up. i should really finish something.
String Quilt top for Babyspawn
i got my swap blocks from the mod mosiac scrap bee, so it was time to put the string blocks together. i used kona medium gray to add a 3" border. i've seen other string quilts with a solid border and i think it works nicely to frame the bright scrappy blocks.

i'll be using my mod mosaic blocks on the backing. the top is approximately 47" square so it'll be a nice big quilt for the baby.

  2. Awesome! Love the solid border! It definitely frames it nicely and makes your eye go straight to the blocks.

  4. Ooh, I love this. I have been coveting string quilts for a while now, and I'm curious to try foundation piecing. I think I'm going to have to just dive in at some point.
