Ye Olde Forgotten Socks

i am really backlogged on sock projects. i have 2 more pairs finished that i haven't blogged. see, i do still knit on increasingly rare occasions.
Ye Olde Forgotten Socks
Pattern: Escalator socks, toe-up with wedge toe
Size: M
Yarn: Chain-plied gale's art merino in crayon box handspun. i had a bunch leftover
Needles: knitpicks circs, size 1
Started: November 23, 2010, Finished: December 12, 2010
Ye Olde Forgotten Socks
I did both socks toe up with alternating 3 round stripes. this nicely dealt with the slightly varying thicknesses of my 2 skeins of handspun. i heart these socks. i've worn them several times. surprisingly i've thrown them in with the regular laundry (cold water in a mesh lingerie bag) and they've held up fine in the machine with no felting or shrinkage despite not being superwash. i would call this lucky so far. either that or these are the Miracle Socks.
Ye Olde Forgotten Socks
i do love me a good garter ridge EOP heel. these socks are so bright and fun. i find myself gravitating towards simple mindless socks these days and the stripes kept it out of boring territory.

honestly i think i knit less these days because i can never find the needles i need. well that, and it makes my hands hurt.

have a pleasant weekend!

  1. These are lovely! I have a half started sock, shoved in a bag in the cupboard somewhere, having not made any before I got stuck and couldn't follow what I was supposed to be doing. I really must dig it out and have another go! :)
