Carnivale

Is it ok to fall in love with a yarn? after dyeing up this fiber i've had in my stash since 2008, i couldn't wait to spin it up.
Carnivale
i spun the singles short-forward draw and chain-plied to preserve the color sequence. it's an aran weight yarn, 118yds/113g of merino/alpaca/silk.
Carnivale
i'm enamored with the colors but i also love how soft the yarn is. the blend gives a nice halo with just a little bit of sheen. it doesn't have a lot of bounce but it isn't super drapey either. i would spin this blend again in a heartbeat and i would love to own a sweater out of this fiber.
Carnivale
i think this would be the perfect hat yarn. soft and warm and bright enough that i won't lose it. i've been planning to knit thorpe for a long time now. hopefully i can get to it before it gets too cold.

  2. I think Thorpe is a perfect choice. I've been wanting to make one as well, and the thought of such a cheery and bright one like yours will be, well, that's even better!
