$20 later, a world of possibilities

i did manage to trek to the thrift store. it's only about a mile from my house, so i went on a nice day, which happened to be half-price clothing day and i came away with 2 bags stuffed full of clothes to makeover.
thrift store finds
most of what i bought were men's shirts. they were all either $1 or $1.50. most are 100% cotton, the green one is a lovely soft linen/cotton, and two are cotton/poly and cotton/lycra. they are all varying sizes. i wanted to stretch my creativity so i just grabbed whatever grabbed me.

i also got these. the left is a lined curtain panel, enough for maybe a short wrap skirt, the middle is a twin flat sheet, and the pink stripe is a full flat sheet.

i really want to make use of the borders of the last two--maybe as full skirts? there's enough of the pink stripe to make a dress.

i'll be revisiting these again soon.

  1. I've been wanting to repurpose some thrift store clothes as well. There are some truly inspiring ideas out there, and it seems like a quick way to add to the wardrobe. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with these finds.
