Sewing Sunday

Simplicity 4111 by knottygnome
my 3rd entry for spring top week. more little folks voile.

this is simplicity 4111, yet another built by wendy pattern. i've made this one once before. it seems really daunting when you cut it out, but it goes together pretty simply.

i did change the order of construction a bit. i set-in the sleeves before stitching the side seams. by doing this i was able to pivot and sew the sleeve and side seams all in one go. plus i just think it's easier to ease in the sleeves when they're flat, rather than trying to stick one circle inside of another.

for this one, i shortened the sleeves and shirred the front waist instead of using an elastic casing. i think this one might be my favorite. it's very comfy and i love the 3 purple buttons that i used from my stash.

i'm sure that i'll make this pattern again eventually. it's very versatile, and i love the wide v-neck.
