Sewing Saturday

i ordered some little folks voile at sewmamasew. i cannot say enough good things about this fabric. gorgeous prints, and the fabric is so soft and shiny. it has a great drape and it's perfect for blouses.

this is simplicity 3835, a built by wendy pattern. i've made this one several times and for good reason. it's really easy to put together but sweet and pretty and appropriate for so many occasions.

i dropped the neckline by 1.5 inches and shirred the neckline instead of using elastic casing. i also cut the back as one piece on the fold instead of 2 with a center back seam. i always forget that the raglan sleeves are really snug. when i make this one again, i should really add some width to make them more roomy.

this is my second entry for spring top week.

  1. I love it! I have got to make me some spring tops. I've had the Wendy pattern sitting in my stash with plenty of lovely fabric choices, but yours is certainly inspiring!
