take it easy

handspun socks
i've only knit a row or two this whole week and i haven't spun at all. the break has actually been kind of nice but i get a bit antsy at times. prior to the headache debacle, i cast-on a handspun sock for me. it's been quite awhile since i've knit myself a pair of socks. i'm using my CMF superwash merino handspun and #1 knitpicks harmonies. i was initially going to knit both socks at the same time but decided against it in the end in case there was too much variation in yarn thickness. i started with the 3ply and the second sock will be from the chain-plied yarn.

i really like how the yarn is knitting up. it's very bouncy and a much better hand than my last superwash merino yarn. i'm noticing the difference that a tighter ply gives to the sometimes plastic-y feel of superwash.

i knit a rounded wedge toe and am knitting 3x1 seed-stitch rib over 60 stitches. i think i'm going through a mindless sock phase. it seems to go hand-in-hand with handspun.

  1. I like it! I'm knitting a hat out of some fine handspun and I'm wishing I had gone socks instead. Your post isn't helping!
