Yarn Bonus + Bonus Yarn

i decided to spend some of my holiday bonus on yarn. i placed an order at eatsleepknit, which is quickly becoming my favorite source for hand-dyed yarns.
Malabrigo Twist
Malabrigo Twist
i wanted to try out malabrigo twist. i got these two colors because i'm planning to knit spicy a Habitat, and i wasn't sure which color he would like. he chose Pearl Ten (the brown) over Olive, so i'll save the other skein for a future gift.
Madeline Tosh Lace
i got 2 skeins of madeline tosh lace in butter for a future design. it's really much prettier than the picture shows. the only thing i'm not really looking forward to is winding that much yarn into a ball.
Malabrigo Lace
Malabrigo Lace
4 skeins each of mal lace, in Blue Surf and Natural. i must've been breathing in too many yarn fumes, because i know that i matched the blue to a pattern but i can't recall what it was now. the white will be another design. i'll probably start this one first b/c it's more fully fleshed out in my brain.

i was a bit lacking in the lace yarn stash but i'm well stocked now. i tried to branch out a bit colorwise, though it was really hard to resist some of the deep blues and reds and greens that are out there.

so for the bonus yarn: eatsleepknit includes a scratch ticket with your order and if there are 3 matching entries, you win that prize. for my first order i won a $5 credit, which was nice and i planned to mail in the ticket eventually. with this order, i won $100 credit! this is in addition to the $5 and the $20 credit i'd earned for ordering so much yarn. i was literally doing a happy dance in the dining room while spicy looked on, amused. he said he was happy for me, but he asked me to please not go crazy and i promised him i wouldn't. now please excuse me while i do another happy dance in the corner of my office and don't let spicy know, s'il vous plait.

  1. Awesome! I've never ordered from there but I've heard so many great things... the thought of a $100 credit might put me over the top.

I can't wait to hear what you think about twist. I've yet to work with it but it looks awesome!

  2. Ha ha! That's awesome! I'm sure they were happy to see that go to a loyal customer anyway!

I like that Habitat even though I don't care for Mr. Stubble Tweed. It looks like a brain!!!
