Giving Thanks for Fleece

i hope that everyone had a good holiday weekend. i thoroughly enjoyed my time away from work. on wednesday i arrived home early to find a big box sitting on my front steps. i bought 2 fleeces from Suegene in a rav destash. naturally the first thing that happened was I opened the box, took out the fleeces to look at them (and they were wrapped so nicely in paper and pillowcases) and my cat Wyatt promptly jumped on and started rolling around and purring like he was in fleece heaven. now the fleeces are locked securely in the craft room but sometimes he still stands outside the door and cries to be let in.
CVM from White Barn Farm
this is a CVM fleece from White Barn Farm, 2lbs 10oz. i love the color variation and CVM is one of my favorite fibers to spin.
3lbs Corriedale Fleece
this is 3lbs of corriedale, a half-fleece from Ruppert's. the crimp is really well defined and it washes up to a dazzling white. this fleece is really soft as well.
Washed Corriedale
i've washed about 10oz so far. i have to do small batches, so i'll probably be washing fleece every couple of days for awhile. i carded 2oz with some tussah silk and it makes a beautiful yarn.

  1. I'm always amazed at the transformation of the fluff.

  2. CVM is one of my faves as well. As soft as Merino and easier to wash. That is a lovely color. Can't wait to see what you make out of it.
