it all lives up to the hype.

the pattern was easy and worked up really quickly with such a pretty result. i got a little tired of it by the last few rows but i was able to soldier through. i might even be tempted to knit another one someday.

the yarn is really springy with beautiful stitch definition. it bled just a little bit in the wash. i was sad that my blocking pins snagged a few of the plies but it doesn't look too bad. i should really get some blocking wires. i have 80g left and i've already cast-on a pair of socks with the leftovers. i would definitely use this yarn again, if only i could wake up at 2:00 in the morning to buy some.

love the harmonies. great pointy tips, lighter in weight than the metal options, and just enough grabbiness. they are very smooth and rhythmical to knit with. i think i might get some of the fixed circs for sock knitting.

this'll be an xmas gift. i've folded it carefully and stored in a very special place, which means that i probably won't be able to find it come the holidays.

  1. Oh, that is very pretty. I do the same thing w/ my gifts. I put them away so they will not get damaged, and then I forget where that special spot is :)

  2. Very pretty!

That's better than my method - I just wait until the last minute, knit everything in a week staying up until 3am feverishly trying to finish in time then vow never to knit anything for anyone else ever again. But then I end up doing it all over again the next year.

  4. Oh you'll find it! Just turn off the lights and follow the glow! I love it!!!

My mom will give me presents like that, "I bought this five years ago for you, hid it in my fabric stash, and just recently unearthed it." Hahahahaha!

  5. Keep a list of your gifts and where they are stored on your computer. Password protect the list if you have Snoopys around.

I've never really gotten a good look at the lace on that pattern before. It looks great. Perfect yarn for it.
