simplicity

Spicy's Birthday Socks
Pattern: None. Toe-up stockinette socks, 64 stitches. Gusset and garter-ridge heel flap, 8 inch leg with 2 inch 2x2 rib cuff. I used Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off.
Yarn: 2ply fingering weight polwarth handspun from Southern Cross Fibres
Needles: #1 metal dpns and #1 knitpicks harmonies
Size: Men's 8ish. I ask Spicy what size his feet are and sometimes i get 7.5 and sometimes i get 8.
Started: October 6. Finished: October 15.
My 2nd finished pair for Socktoberfest and my 16th finished pair of 2009.

i heart handspun socks. that's all i have to say.

i've decided to lower the price for my Bubbles pattern to $4.50. It was my first self-published pattern and i think it's best to bring the pricing in line with my other patterns. There's still plenty of time to whip up a pair before the first snow (well, maybe not if you live where i am, but other places). So if you were on the fence and are looking for a fun holiday pattern, it's available for purchase through Paypal.

  3. The yarn itself is a show stopper. It doesn't need a fancy pattern to shine, the stockinette is perfect with it.
