i'm breaking up with my addi turbos

i've finally hit on a sock knitting formula that works for me. i prefer to knit my socks one at a time using magic loop. my 40" addi turbos are just a bit too long for that purpose, so i ordered a variety of 32" knitpicks circs for socks. i got sizes 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 in both options and harmonies. i did once own a pair of options that snapped at the join, but i believe it took over a year for it to break from heavy use and the needles are inexpensive enough that i'm willing to accept that they might not last forever.

i finished spicy's first sock on dpns, and gratefully switched to the harmonies on the second sock.

i'm knitting toe-up with a gusset and garter ridge heel flap. i knit 2 inches of 2x2 ribbing and used the new stretchy bind-off from knitty fall 2009. i quite like it. easy to work with great results.

  1. I'm a HUGE fan of HiyaHiya Stainless Steel circs. They also make them in bamboo, I think.

  2. I've never used Addis in any form. Or KP now that I think about it. I'm so lowclass1

  3. I love the KP needles for socks! I love my 32" Addi Lace circs too. But you gotta love the price on the KPs.

  4. I love the addis, but they annoy me with their US 2 that is really a 2.5 (3mm) That extra half mm is crucial to my gauge and fit in sock knitting.
I thought I wanted to get the addi Clicks, but half the set would be wasted as I rarely knit with a needle over size 8. Good thing I finally learned the magic loop as now I can get much more use out of the circs I have.
