Pretty Yarn Day: Eye-Searing Edition

half of the labor day bfl is finished.
3ply BFL
513yds/205g total, sport to dk weight
3ply BFL, fiber purchased at rhinebeck 2008 and hand-dyed with acid dyes
spun short-forward draw, soaked and thwacked to finish
3ply BFL
i divided the fiber into half, and then into thirds without splitting the top vertically. i let the colors be random, which is why i ended up with one skein that is half blue and half green, and one that is mostly green. it should be interesting to see how it knits up.
3ply BFL
i was afraid to rinse the fiber a lot and risk felting from too much manhandling, so the yarn bled a lot. it bled and bled and seemed to get worse the more i rinsed. in the last rinse i used super hot water and vinegar and that seemed to work. the colors did not fade at all, however. next time i will add more vinegar to the dyebath.

now i just need to spin the other half.
