Socks for the Groom

Groom Socks
Pattern: Oak Ribbed Socks from Knitting Vintage Socks
Size: Men's 7.5
Needles: #1 aluminum dpns and #1 addi turbos
Yarn: Valley Yarns Franklin, hand dyed in Black and Blue
Started: June 15, Finished: July 15
Recipient: Spicy's Sister's Fiance

so these socks took a little longer than i anticipated. at least they are done in plenty of time for the wedding. i knit the pattern as written up to the heel turn, then i did my own thing for the gusset because i forgot to consult the book. i did use nancy's toe.

i knit the first sock on addi turbos, then i lost my addi turbos again so i knit the second on dpns. i swear, there must be some knitting black hole where needles and socks go to die. or i'm just really disorganized. yeah, that's probably it.

the kureyon sock colorway from yesterday is S226. i haven't looked up the others yet. in a fit of craziness i decided to do this month's Sock Innovation KAL after all, and i cast on for Rick (rav link) this morning with kureyon. so far, the yarn is very sticky. it's a little difficult to get used to. i've only knit 6 rows of ribbing.
