When Socks Knit Themselves

Rib and Cable Socks
My 9th pair of 2009.
Pattern: Rib and Cable Socks from Interweave Knits, Fall 2005
Needles: #2 addi turbos
Yarn: Valley Yarns Franklin, handdyed by me in Espresso
Size: Men's 10
Started: May 24 - Finished: May 28
Rib and Cable Socks
i followed the pattern, except that i reversed the direction of the cables on the second sock. the heel turn and toe instructions were a little weird, but i went with it. if i were to do it again, i'd use a different increase on the heel turn instead of a YO.

yay for socks that only took 5 days. i suppose the holiday weekend helped. these will be for my dad for his birthday/Father's Day.

  1. Great Dad socks! (YOs on a non-short row heel turn? That does seem odd...)

  3. They're beautiful! But... how come my socks don't knit themselves? What's wrong with them???

  4. I made a pair of these in 2005 from Mtn.Colors Bearfoot - they are as pretty as the day I completed them! What a wonderful gift for your Dad - they are seriously handsome socks!
