mother's day socks

Kai-Mei, Right Sock
i finally started a pair of socks from Sock Innovation.

i'm using my kool-aid overdyed shepherd's baby wool in fire engine red and #1 bamboo dpns. i've misplaced my 40" #1 addi turbos. i realize that i have a strong preference for working socks one at a time on circular needles. if i don't find the addis soon i might have to place another knitpicks order, b/c the dpns are driving me batty.

the sock is kai-mei. this pair will be my mom's mother's day present. i figured this pair would be a good way to ease into the book, as the pattern is pretty mindless. i like the butterfly lace panel enough that i might make bettie's lace stockings from spring IK 2009 too.
