Pretty Fiber Day

i promised myself that i wouldn't join any more fiber/yarn clubs. not necessarily because of prior bad experiences, but because of all the crazy i've witnessed recently, and because i don't think most clubs are a good value. well, i lied.
eLoomanator's Diagonal Knit Dishcloth
but first, a dishcloth. This is eLoomanator's Diagonal Knit dishcloth (rav link). i used a skein of sugar n cream cotton in black and #6 denise circs. this took me about an hour and a half to knit. i've been in a bit of a rut and this was a good way to get out of it. spicy's sister is getting married in august, and i'm planning to give her a handmade kitchen set for a gift, so i'll be making lots of little kitchen items between now and then.

I sat on the sideline for the first 2 months of the Colorways Club by Grafton Fibers. i wanted to see what people got and the batts were so lovely that i caved.

ok, have i given proper spoiler notice by now?

Colorways club 03/09, Mud Season
this is Mud Season, the March shipment. i've already spun half of it longdraw as a worsted weight chain plied yarn, ~97yds. my longdraw still stinks, but i'm hoping it will get better by the end of this project. the colors are so vibrant and the corriedale is amazingly soft and easy to spin.
Colorways club 03/09, Mud Season
the reason i joined the club was b/c i wanted to knit a handspun Lizard Ridge. If my math is correct, i should be able to get 2 squares per batt. i figured it would be a manageable project to spin and knit 2 squares a month for a year. i'm looking forward to spinning up the other half and getting started on the blanket.

  1. Wow, beautiful fiber! Can't wait to see your handspun and the Lizard Ridge squares.

I quit the Sundara club and joined the A Verb for Keeping Warm fiber club--just got some merino-silk roving in the mail. But it's not as bright and exciting as your batt.
