Prep School Cat

Prep School Cat
Your kitty will look dashing in this scholarly v-neck vest featuring mock cable rib and a simple fish motif. The vest is worked in the round from the bottom-up to the armholes and then flat for the back and front, joined at the shoulders using the 3-needle bind-off. Not just for laughs, this vest is a low stress way to try knitting in the round, 2-color knitting, short-row shoulder shaping, and the sewn bind-off. This pattern is written for my 20lb cat, and may need to be adjusted for more average sizes.

  2. That is really cute. I can't see any of my three big boys wearing it though but they are about the right size.

  3. This has got to be the first picture I've ever seen where the cat is wearing a garment and not looking homicidal. Very, very cute.

  4. That's priceless! I just love it, esp. the cute little red fish. And your cat looks amazingly cheerful about wearing a sweater. :-)

That is adorable - Does he mind you putting it on? Will he keep it on?

  13. Confused about the mock cable rib... are you missing a few steps?

  14. You are missing several instructions for the mock cable rib and shoulder shaping. Any help with the shoulders would be appreciated.

  15. Love this! Wish I had found it sooner - but I did make a sweater for friend's 17 yo kitty and she walks as if she's got the weight of the world on her! LOL The other cat follows her just to see what is going on.

I hope to do this one for Ms Kitty. The other is a turtleneck and she *does* allow the on-off.
