The reappearance of Wiggy

Due to the recent proliferation of adorable hat patterns, the coworkers are getting hats this year for xmas.
Bobble hat from Vogue Knitting Holiday 2008
first up is the #31 Bobbled Tam from Vogue Knitting Holiday 2008. i used the skein of mountain view/sheep shed alpaca that i got at rhinebeck and #5 and #6 denise circs. i knit the size S.

this was a fun pattern to knit, but unfortunately the yarn i chose is too heathered and uneven to show off the pattern to its advantage. but i hope it's still cute enough that the young, stylish person it's going to will like it.
Isotope from Knotions Winter 2008
Next is Isotope from Knotions Winter 2008. i used some leftover bernat satin and #7 & #8 knitpicks options.

this was a very quick hat to knit, and i love how cute it is. this one is going to the coworker who earlier this year gave the cabled newsboy hat to her husband. now, to give her some credit i have seen her wear the hat a few times. however, she has lately taken to wearing it inside out with the seams showing and everything. i have often thought that this person is a few bricks shy of a load, so i can't figure out if she doesn't realize that the cables are supposed to go on the outside, or if she is simply making a fashion statement. regardless i decided that she has the right to wear the hat however she wants to and that nothing can be gained by pointing out the obvious. now that i have made this new hat (which is girly enough i doubt her husband would want it) i am starting to think i should've stuck to something reversible, just in case. oh well.

i realize after perusing my past blog entries that i had pledged not to knit this person anything again. because i have a mean streak i comfort myself with giving her acrylic while my other coworkers are getting nicer yarns. also i had serious thoughts of buying her a knockoff Coach keychain or something similar at the public market since she is the knockoff bag queen, but personal ethics against supporting such businesses prevents me from doing so.

i have more hats to come, but first i need to wash and block them.

i've also been spinning. a lot.
