back to basics

i got my new camera, but i'm still in the process of figuring out how to use it. catch-up is going to be a slow process.
Ingenue from Custom Knits
i finished ingenue, and i've worn it a couple of times. 800-ish yds of brown sheep naturespun worsted in my kettle dyed Avocado colorway. #8 knitpicks options, 33" size. Knitting time: November 10, 2008 - November 23, 2008.
Ingenue from Custom Knits
i knit the underside of the collar in stockinette, lengthened the body by 2ish inches, and shortened the sleeves about an inch.
Ingenue from Custom Knits
it turns out that there was a big stripey stripe on both sides, so it doesn't matter which side i wear as the front. i like the fit and the yarn is softer than cascade 220, but it's still itchy enough that i have to wear a tank underneath. i don't think that i used to be so itch sensitive, but i definitely am now. i love this sleeve length with slightly belled sleeves. longer ones get in the way when they are loose and floppy. i also like the way the collar drapes. before blocking, it stood up very stiffly and looked quite odd. i made sure to stretch it out widthwise while blocking. i'm pretty happy with this sweater, and i'm sure i'll wear it often. i love the color and i'm looking forward to dyeing more of my own yarns.

and just for fun, a bonus cute Ellie pic.

  2. The avocado sweater came out splendiferous! It's beautiful and fits well! Oh, and you did the sweater in a month thing, but then I've seen you do that before, Speedy. ;)
