fits and starts

so i started CPH in a flurry, but then i put it down for about a week b/c i just didn't feel like working on it.

then yesterday i decided to pick it back up and knit so much more that my wrists are in pain today. which probably means that i won't pick it back up for another week or so. oh well.

i finished both fronts and joined the shoulders with the 3-needle bindoff. then i decided to join the side seams with mattress stitch. then i decided i wanted to knit the hood rather than have a bunch of neck stitches on various holders. i carried the center back cable up the hood and then joined it with the 3-needle bindoff. next i will probably pick up the sleeve stitches and knit a short-row sleeve cap top-down. but it's possible i'll do the button bands first. maybe. if i feel like it.

basically the sweater orderly gods are frowning at my inability to properly construct a sweater in the order the directions intended, but who cares if it all goes together in the end? i am no longer worried about running out of yarn. i have 2.5 skeins left and 2 sleeves plus the button bands to knit. i still haven't decided if i want buttons or a zipper. i even had brief visions of a double breasted buttonband, but it'll be dependent on how much yarn is left. so maybe i should do the sleeves next.

i am taking off work friday and monday for rhinebeck. spicy and i will be camping at mills-norrie state park. hopefully the ability to build campfires will keep him happy. we are tremendously excited. and i could really use a vacation.

  1. It's coming along beautifully! And I say that even though I am green with all kinds of envy that you get to go to Rhinebeck. See how much I've grown?
