I'm a tease

Gah. i finished little birds last night. i washed and blocked the cardi and though it is still slightly damp, i laid it out to take preliminary unmodeled pics until i can buy buttons. and then i forgot my memory card at home.

now i am wishing that the bird motif were roosters, so that i could pun that i'm a c0ck tease. ahh, brain--how strange you are.

instead, today's Project I Finished Ages Ago is some more stranded colorwork, just to whet your appetite.

These are the White Witch Mitts from Interweave Knits, Spring 2008. It turns out that Spring IK 08 was one of my best issues, since i've knit 3 patterns from it so far.

Project Stats
Started June 7, Finished June 9
Yarn: RYC Cashsoft DK in navy for MC, 3 colors of Knitpicks Telemark for contrast colors.
Needles: US #3. I probably used addi turbos.

i don't much enjoy knitting corrugated ribbing, but i cannot deny that it looks fantastic. these mittens have long cuffs, and the thumbs are a bit too long for me, but otherwise they fit well and are satisfyingly squooshy feeling on the hands. i spit spliced the color changes for the telemark and was very satisfied in not having to weave in ends.

i adore these mittens. i may give them away as an xmas gift, but then again i might keep them all to myself.

tomorrow, mayhaps, i'll have pictures of little birds.

  1. Wow, those are fabulous! Makes me wish it was cold enough here to wear mittens!
