my camera went kaput

Bezzie, tanks count if you want them to. i didn't include mine b/c i was concentrating on fall. plus i keep my tanks buried in a drawer with the rest of my clothes and the chance that i was going to dig them out was nil.

the point wasn't to make everyone else feel bad about their lack of offerings. au contraire, i don't think i have that many sweaters. if you count that i really only wear about a handful of them frequently in 4-ish years of knitting? that's only 1.25 success stories per year. so don't be bashful.

i managed to photograph my finished vinnland socks, though if my batteries hadn't died, i would have taken a few more shots b/c i heart the socks so much.
Vinnland socks
pattern is from the anticraft. i knit the 64 st size, though i could've gone up to 68, as the socks are very snug. i subbed my usual round toe and the YO short-row heel from Summer IK 2007. i knit 4 leg repeats and finished with 16 rounds of 2x2 ribbing.
Vinnland
i used my new 47" #1 addi lace circs, 2 at once, toe-up. the pointiness of the addis was necessary for these socks, but the cord is a bit long. i am too lazy and cheap to buy the 40" size, so i'll live with it. i enjoyed every minute of knitting this pattern, and i may even want to do it again someday. the 2ply BFL handspun i got in a trade worked up so pretty. The colors in the two socks are different from each other, but they still work together. the pattern probably would've looked better in a smoother solid yarn, but i don't regret my yarn choice.

did i mention that i love these socks? i have a finished skein of yarn to show as well, but it will have to wait until i buy more batteries.

  1. Vinnland's are freaking cooler to me each finished pair I see.

Now that I think about it, I believe I only have one knitted tank that I haven't thrown out.

  2. Nicely done! I'm not quite cool enough to knit anything from Anticraft, so I'll have to admire from the other side of the cafeteria.
